Informatics, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering – the interdisciplinary character not only shapes education in robotics training, but also the future professional environment. The focus, however, lies on software expertise. This, for example, includes machine learning and machine vision. Even though we often talk about robotics specialists, robotics engineers – so called “roboticists” – are in a general sense generalists with a broad technical background and well-developed interface expertise.
Apart from engineering-related topics, courses in informatics form a focal point of the study plan. The informatics components qualify students to be part of an advanced analysis of methods of artificial intelligence (AI) and thus pave the way for them into the strategic future-oriented field of robotics.
